How can I track down my medical records my doctor has passed on with no contact info?

I went to follow up with a doctor I had been seeing on and off for years. I went to his office was advised it had been taken over and that the prior tenant had passed on. I went to building management and they have no forwarding address. Anyone out there have any ideas? I have scanned the web. Much appreciated.

Contact the probate court and look for his probate record for the name of the person assigned to take care of his estate, the executor. They were responsible for getting his affairs in order and distributing the assets of the estate which should have included his office stuff such as filing cabinets. They should know or have recorded in the probate the disposal of the contents.
If you know when he died you could also look in the local paper for an announcement of the closing of the practice telling current patients of the time to get or transfer records to other doctors. that too should have contact information.
