I live in kansas, im 20, i make $13,000 a year, live at home. I need help. My parents dont know much about this stuff, they from another country. I had a bad car accident 2 years ago and till this day i need some more x rays- tests and check ups and a surgery. But i dont have the money, my last doc set me up with appt, but for the x ray they needed half the money down b4 they could set up payments.
Someone please tell me where to go to get help, when i got in my car wreck kansas state health medicare i believe took most of the hospital bill which was $80,000 plus. How do i contact for further help? where do i go? please help, my medical condition has been lingering on for far too long.

Sorry you are having this problem. Bummer!

Have you tried connecting with Kansas’ Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS)? These folks would be the first place to start to confer about what options might be available for you. They know the rules about Medicare and Medicaid.

To find out how to contact them, check with your local county health office. These folks would know the phone number. Or you could ask at the reference desk of your local library.

Also, some communities have health clinics for people who do not have health insurance. This is another question to ask the folks in your local health department or public library.

Hope this helps. Best wishes and good luck!
