Tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as THC, Δ9-THC, Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), Δ1-tetrahydrocannabinol (using an older numbering scheme), or dronabinol, is the main psychoactive substance found in the Cannabis plant. It was isolated by Raphael Mechoulam, Yechiel Gaoni, and Habib Edery from the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Israel in 1964. In pure form, it is a glassy solid when cold, and becomes viscous and sticky if warmed. An aromatic terpenoid, THC has a very low solubility in water, but good solubility in most organic solvents such as butane or hexane. As is the case with nicotine and caffeine, the role of THC in Cannabis, it seems, is to protect the plant from herbivores. THC also possesses high UV-B (280-315 nm) absorption properties, protecting the plant from harmful radiation.

This video highlights the effects of THC on human brain cancer cells (also called GBM) and normal brain cells.

The video on the LEFT of the screen is of normal brain cells. The video on the RIGHT of the screen is of brain cancer cells.

This video shows that THC, the active ingredient in Marijuana (ie Cannabis) has a detrimental effect on Brain cancer cells, while having little effect on normal brain cells.

    “They (PMID: …
“They (PMID: 11269508) injected THC right into the tumor (Glioma) of mice that were given these tumors. If you look at the x-rays of the brains of these mice the tumor goes away in 3 days. They look at all the surrounding brain tissue no problem doesn’t have any negative effect on it. Marijuana, Endocannabinoids & Phytocannabinoids they actually promote what’s known as Neurogenesis the creation of new brain cells even in adults”

Thats the spirit, i hope to be toking well into my twilight years !

  17. I just know that …
I just know that when I used to get high, I was the happiest I have ever been in my life. I quit because i had children and grand children and my job. But as soon as I retire I will buy me a couple of tons of pot, sit back in my rocking chair, or wheel chair and get as high as a kite, in other words I will pick up where I left off. I will het high and die happy!

  18. I said “they don’t …
I said “they don’t care about what’s illegal” because they’ve been in drug businness with every international dealer known by man since drug exists.
For example: They financed mujhaidin to produce hash, giving them weapons to fight URSS…the hash was sold by CIA contacts just in the same country were they started the crusade against drug…the US!!!
The war against drug has begun for being never finished….

  19. i totally agree. If …
i totally agree. If this plant is not legal ask it why to pharmaceutical corporates, mafia, and every kind of the so called “hidden governments”. CIA and other agencies (between of them there was DEA too)owns the control of the entire drugs trade.

  20. “do you relly …
“do you relly beleive they care about what’s forbidden?”

yes MrRonStark, i actually do really believe MANY government agencies care about whats forbidden. were they not, wouldn’t cannabis be legal?

the DEA has a non lethal “plant” categorized as a schedule I drug… i think someone cares a lot considering the vast medicinal, industrial and SAFE recreational uses of the plant.

couldnt have a drug war without creating an enemy, right?

  21. No, we didn’t.

    No, we didn’t.

The excerpt you mentioned it’s about marijuana and NOT its synthesys, that is hundred times more powerful than weed, and do you relly beleive they care about what’s forbidden?…Anyway CIA has never gone deeper with those experiments, and insisted on LSD, bz and synthethic compounds (and their military usefulness)…They never supported my personal idea of studying THC synthesys. It was just limited to some small clandestine european laboratories….

  22. so did you folks …
so did you folks over at the CIA get the same result with synthetic THC that you got with the naturally occurring chemical in cannabis?

Excerpt from: Access Denied: For Reasons of National Security.
“Since it can render mind control uncontrollable by penetrating memory compartmentalization, marijuana is strictly forbidden in the military, special forces, among spies, etc.”

@BongHitFever ha, i dont think inside the box, outside the box, or even on the box… there is no box

  24. no. The THC is …
no. The THC is inhibiting the tumor cells on the right (making it so that they don’t grow). Yet on the left, it does nothing to normal brain cells.

So in conclusion, it kills the bad stuff while not even affecting the good stuff.

  25. no, the other way …
    no, the other way around.
