I keep getting overwhelmed at work. What’s wrong with me?

I work in the healthcare field in busy practices as a patient service rep. Plus, I am floating around the entire medical center from week to week or day to day.

I become nervous from an overload of patient contact (not really a people person) and it affects my concentration and performance. I am unable to think straight as a result of this problem.

If you’re not a people person and you have regular patient contact you really need to find another niche in the health care field; something more technical and less people oriented. It is very easy to get overwhelmed in the health care field; more demands are made ion you there than anywhere else and it is very difficult much of the time. Look into other areas of the health care field, maybe consider getting into lab work, and you will be much happier. Medical billing/coding pays really well, and transcription, which you can do at home.

  1. Maybe you are stressed ;; try to releive the stress by doing something you like to do ;; when you go to work keep a mental picture of that place you like and just pretend you are there ;; i kno it sounds weird but it will probably help you mantally =)
