I have a medical debt, how do I go about paying it off?
I owe a meager $69.56 from a visit to the doctor I made in June 2007, assuming my insurance would pay for it. I didn’t know my insurance wouldn’t pay for a visit to multiple doctors on the same day. So I now have a $69.56 debt that has been reported on my credit reports.
So how do I go about paying it off and getting them to agree to remove it from my three credit reports? Should I contact the doctor’s office themselves? They send me a bill about every two months, with an address in a city I don’t know of (must be their main office?) with an account number.
Should I contact them saying if I pay off the debt associated with the account number on the bill they will agree to remove it from my three credit reports?
Any help is appreciated.
I don’t believe it’s been sent to a collection agency, as the bill I receive every two months-ish is addressed from Family Medical Center, the place I acquired the debt. I just think it’s from their main office as I don’t know the city they send it from.
call the credit company ask them…is it collections that has been reported…if yes then call the collection comapnyand make payment arrangments…….
if there are no collections ..then it has NOT been recorded badly yet….so call ur doctors office and pay off ASAP

Just call the doctors office and ask them to check their records if you still owe it. And ask them if they billed your correct insurance (make sure they have the right ID number on file). If they say you owe it and the insurance didnt pay it for some reason then mail them a check.
