Are there any low-stress medical jobs that involve lots of contact with people?

I’ve considered nursing, but i’m not sure what area…
oh and i don’t want to be a doctor

Nursing is probably one of the most stressful careers in the medical field. "Low stress" medical careers are relatively unheard of, but there are a few that tend to be less stressful than others.

Here are a few other options:
Physical Therapist Assistant – you would work under a physical therapist, but this is a very hands-on, independent job. Definitely patient-oriented.

Dental Hygienist – works under the supervision of a dentist, but very much one-on-one with patients.

Speech Language Pathologist – works directly with patients of all ages- children with speech impediments all the way to elderly stroke victims; requires patience and compassion. Master’s degree required to practice.

  1. I think all medical jobs who are around lots of people can be stressful, but only if you allow the stress to happen. There are ways to battle stress like exercising and eating healthy, or even Yoga. I think an easy going job would probably be in an office setting.
