Make sure its the right prescription that you have. Then check them again. If they are right then you need to take them to where ever you got your prescription from and let them know whats going on. The "first time" you put contacts on should be in front of a doctor not by yourself..

I’ve contacted several medical offices and walk in clinics, but they say they do not accept volunteers. How do I gain experience if I can’t volunteer? I have a four year degree and 8 years of management experience in a business capacity.
That’s a really good idea, but how do I get a foot in the door without ever using their computer/file system?

So do you not have medical manager experience? If not, I would suggest looking for Assistant manager positions or Admin assistant positions. While they may be less money and a "lower" rank job than you are used to, it will allow you to get a foot in the door and gain medical experience. Once you have that experience, you can start looking for better jobs.

My mom was adopted (i’m just asking the question) through the state of New Mexico, neither of us are sure where to start, or who to contact about getting medical records, or seeing if its possible to access her medical records in the first place. Anyone know how she’d do that?

Hi, The best place to start searching is with the agency that handled the adoption. The agency can open the records and if there’s a contact Information entered (from her bio parents/families), they will release this. She can also have her contact information entered in the file.

If the agency is no longer in existence, she can call the states Department of Human Services, Adoption Unit and ask who has custody of the records.

She could also register with the following large, free search registries:

ISSR – largest – download the registration form and mail it in. http://www.plumsite.com/isrr/
Reunion Registry at Adoption.com http://registry.adoption.com/
Adoption Registry Connect (registers by birth state) http://www.adopteeconnect.com/
G’s Adoption Registry http://www.gsadoptionregistry.com/

I also found this site – for those affected by adoption in New Mexico, they have a registry also:

http://nmar.freeservers.com/

There’s many other places to register – call up New Mexico with the words adoption registry to see more. Also check all the above online registries to see if someone is already looking for her.

Searching can be a slow process, it takes patience.
Best Wishes !

Edit:—————————-
Sorry, I didn’t answer your question on medical records. No one can access another’s medical records. The only way to get answers is to ask the biological parents.

.

theres a store called "Maybee NewYork" in the mall near me. they sell contact lenses to change the color of your eyes but they dont ask for a prescription or have any kind of legal documents that say they are allowed to sell items like this. Since you need a prescription to buy contacts and they are considered medical, is what this store doing illegal?

Yes, it is illegal.

But the government isn’t active in stopping things like that until there is a complaint.

Dealers like that aren’t aware of the heavy fines they would pay if someone injures their eyes from using those lenses , and sues.

Many beauty stores and hairdressers sell them, unaware that they are breaking the law. Or just don’t care, even if they do know.

Non corrective lenses fall under the same category as corrective lenses in the USA , they are still contact lenses with the same possible dangers.

Not asking for a prescription isn’t the problem. It’s selling them without being licenced to do so. Only Ophthalmologists, Optometrists or Opticians are licenced to do so.

Assistive Technology Services is thrilled to be able to finally announce the product that seniors have been asking us for.
Wouldn’t it be great if you had a WATERPROOF device you could carry with you all around and outside your home that you could talk through and call for help with NO MONTHLY FEE EVER?

WE HAVE IT !

The new Freedom Alert has two features that make it stand out as truly innovative in the market place. First, is that its the worlds smallest two-way voice communicator; and second is that it requires no monthly fees. Another unique feature of Freedom Alert is the introduction of the two-way speakerphone pendant. While all the competitors were requiring a person to shout across the house to a speakerphone box to communicate to the monitoring station, this technology put the speakerphone right in the miniature pendant. You can be anywhere in or around your home and communicate effortlessly. Use these four programmable numbers to contact family and friends. A typical user might enter their daughters cell phone number and their neighbors home number. With the Freedom Alert, these contacts are just a push button away when the person is anywhere in their home or even in their yard. The pendant can operate up to 600 ft away from the base station. The base station plugs into any standard phone jack in the home. The pendant can be worn on a neck lanyard, on the included belt clip or the included wrist-strap. – 600 foot range – 2 way speakerphone in the pendant – waterproof pendant (you can shower with it)
- No Monthly Fee Seniors, family members, friends have been asking us for this for years. Everyone loves the concept of a No Monthly Fee Medical Alert System. One of the features that they have been asking for is a Pendant that you can talk through instead of having to speak into the built in speakerphone in the dialing unit. Well, we finally have it. In addition this system has a range 6 times greater than other models, up to 600 feet from the pendant to the base unit. Now you can wander all over your property and still be connected in the event of an emergency. We are very excited to be able to offer what our customers have been asking for.

Announcing the Freedom Alert – No Monthly Fee Medical Alert System with a 2 way speakerphone in the pendant and a range of up to 600 feet. Plus, our system is much less than the Skymall price.
